Novatek, Fluxys JV to build LNG terminal in German Rostock
MOSCOW, Oct 17 (PRIME) -- A joint venture between Russian independent gas producer Novatek and Belgian gas delivery operator Fluxys plans to construct a 300,000 tonne liquefied natural gas (LNG) transshipment terminal in Germany’s port city of Rostock, Novatek said in a statement on Wednesday.
“A joint venture between Novatek and Fluxys signed a land lease agreement with the Rostock Port for construction of a mid-scale LNG transshipment terminal located in the port of Rostock in Germany,” the statement read.
“One of our LNG strategic initiatives is to develop small- to medium-tonnage projects to target niche markets and customer segments,” the statement quoted Novatek CEO and core owner Leonid Mikhelson as saying.
